After a week off, Round 2 resumed with a cracking edition of the Memsie Stakes with four horses duking out the finish. MR BRIGHTSIDE at $6.08/$1.51BSP (much to the despair of all Crows fans – I literally can’t enjoy the song anymore, fucking Jack ruined that for me!) held off I WISH I WIN ($1.51) and PRINCESS GRACE ($2.07).

Meanwhile in the Concorde, the first up specialist REMARQUE ($6.08/$1.89 BSP) outlasted IN SECRET ($1.56) and BELLA NIPOTINA ($1.73), in a race that saw the curtain drawn on the careers of NATURE STRIP and EDUARDO. I did see some commentary suggesting that NATURE STRIP had a great career, but was hard to catch!?!?! He only won 22/44!! Some people are harsh judges.

Skinny smacked $100 on both winners and took home the jackpotted Round 2 prize of $100! He profited $690 for the round, whilst Chriso was unlucky in second on $652.50 – having had $100 on REMARQUE then splitting the Memsie with $50 win MR BRIGHTSIDE and $50 place PRINCESS GRACE. Six others shared third, having $100 on REMARQUE.

Overall Saff and Rish share the lead on $901, with Law in third on $752.75.

Reminder that there are no G1 races to tip this weekend!! So enjoy your punting and footy finals.
